Trips, Workshops & Enrichment Days

The Arts Faculty prides itself in developing external opportunities for pupils  through its clubs, trips and regular visits from professional art and performance practitioners. Pupils are encouraged to develop wider learning experiences  and improve their cultural and community awareness, whilst also improving their confidence and communication skills.

We often hold whole school competitions, enrichment days and interactive arts activities to encourage creativity and group work throughout school. Projects such as the Big Draw, Production Launch Parties and Arts workshops for example the production of the ‘Thing’ along with Stony Dean school have all been exciting cross curricular successes.

Parental Initiatives

Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in pupil learning and extended learning.

They are invited into school for our performances and exhibitions and their opinion asked about how we could improve the Arts Faculty:  clubs, communication, performances and exhibition from a parental perspective, parents are encouraged to email ideas to the faculty leader via the web page and let us know of any outside networking links which they believe may benefit our pupils.

The Arts faculty have also started to offer parental workshops surrounding the arts and developing the holistic child. These include pupil performance assemblies and  parent meet and greet sessions.

Art Exhibitions are organised for students doing accreditation and parents are invited into school to view their pupil's work.
