Wednesday: Girls Open Age Football Tournament - Middlesex FA

Our female students enjoyed a sunny day, competing in the last tournament of this academic year. All participants showed fantastic maturity and represented Meadow to a high standard. Their team work and passion was clear throughout. All participants were lucky enough to also receive a medal for their efforts throughout this academic year - well done to all!

Thursday:Bloomsbury Football Inclusive Festival at QPR

Thanks to Bloomsbury Football, we were able to take 38 year 8-10 students to participate in a football festival on the official pitch of Queen's Park Rangers. Students were able to play mini matches between other SEN schools and take part in various activities. The event was well organised and run by some excellent coaches. Students all received a medal (providing a chance for QPR to see silverware being won since the 1966-67 season), book and a gift bag at the end of the session. Students behaviour was excellent and they participated brilliantly. A big thank you to the staff at Meadow who supported the trip, all at Bloomsbury’s football and QPR for hosting the event.

Thursday:  Seated Volleyball at Meadow High School

Thanks to our Year 10 and 11 Sports Leaders, Meadow High School hosted another tournament for local school - this time it was seated volleyball. Thank you to Oak Wood, Park Academy and Pield Heath for attending; as well as, Class MP and Class YA from Meadow.

The focus of this tournament was to show key sporting skills; determination, team work, self belief and honesty. All participants showed a range of these skills on numerous occasions.

Well done to all students AND staff who participated. And a big thank you to the year 10 and 11 sports leaders who organised the whole event.

Mr Anstee [PE Faculty Lead]
