Dear Families
Pupils have completed their first three days on timetable, which means there has been more movement and 'life' about the site. We have also had our first whole school assembly with our additional pupil numbers. We needed to bring in a few more chairs but other than that, the whole school was able to come together. Well done to our newest pupils for taking part!
All pupils and staff have completed a dry run of our new fire / emergency evacuation. To facilitate getting everyone safely to the muster point, our build team has built a fire safe corridor. This means that for some of our pupils, in a few classrooms, they will reach the muster via a fire safe internal short corridor. We are ensuring that pupils know the ONLY time they would reenter a building during an evacuation is during an evacuation at Meadow. If you feel your child requires a social story to support this, please liaise with their Form Tutor.
I will be giving you regular updates on our anti-racism work throughout this year. We started our journey in February when all staff and pupils completed a survey. We will repeat this every year to help steer the work we need to undertake.
Last week pupils met with a lovely lady, Audrey, who they will be working with over the year. Audrey facilitated conversations about race and racism and was bowled over by how knowledgeable the pupils were about these topics.
