Dear Families
Covid
We have just been notified of a positive result for a member of our community. We have consulted with the Public Health Team and followed their guidance in relation to pupils and staff members.
Pupils and staff have adapted well to our slightly bigger Bubbles and the reorganised structure of the timetable. I am extremely pleased at the maturity of the vast majority of our pupils who have not only made these adaptations but have also supported their friends to do so as well. It has been a delight to see pupils taking part in PE lessons, being creative in the Art room, undertaking experiments in Science, building fantastic projects in Resistant Materials and showing great concentration and enthusiasm in their class based lessons.
It has also been a pleasure to see pupils reconnecting with friends from other classes in their year group at playtime. Our staggered break times and Bubble spaces allow pupils to both socially distance and participate in guided play. Football, swing ball and scooters seem to be particular favourites!
Build
There have been tonnes of concrete poured on site this week as the foundations for the new building are created.
The build team have also been putting interactive resources for pupils around the site which they are enjoying. They will also soon be creating the vision panels where pupils (and staff!) will be able to watch the new school develop.
If you are interested in seeing the progress of the site please use the details below which will give you access to an 'Eye in the Sky' which looks down on the site.

There is also another link intended for pupils where there are games they can play that will help them learn about construction: https://www.ivorgoodsite.org.uk/kidszone/
Scouts
You may be aware that nationally, all Youth Groups have been directed not to have face to face contact. However, as our Scout Group is part of our curriculum and the children are only participating in their Bubbles we are able to continue with Scouting activities. This has been agreed with the organisation.
On Wednesday 11th (annual review / training day) some of our Scouts came into school to participate in our first Remembrance Day Parade. The pupils and Scout Leaders marched onto the main school car park and gathered around the flag pole.
An extract from Laurence Binyon's Poem, 'The Fallen' that is traditionally read at Remembrance Services was confidently read by Rocky Verma.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
We were lucky to have an ex-member of the Royal Fusiliers attend the service and a serving member of the Royal Air Force attend to play the last post. As the last note died away the Maroons (Canons) that were set off across Hillingdon. Maybe because the roads are quieter at the moment we were actually able to hear four separate Maroons. Rafia Rahman was an excellent flag bearer and carefully lowered the flag during the 2 minutes silence.
Thanks to Mr Baker for his moving reading of a specially written poem 'When they first came back' which was dedicated to the memory of Mr Colin Livy, our former Premises Assistant.
All the staff who came to attend the Parade agreed that it was very moving and we were all so proud of our Scouts.
Well done to:
