Dear Families,
Covid
We have had one confirmed case in our community since the last bulletin, which has resulted in some staff and pupils being required to isolate. Please be aware that the requirement from the Public Health Team for people isolating in this area has changed. Everyone required to be isolated from the Meadow High community needs to complete a PCR test and share the results with the school.
We are also aware that there are a growing number of pupils and staff who are now isolating due to close contact with positive cases outside school.
As we appear to have a significant increase in the number of cases locally, I have taken the precautionary measure of sending home a testing kit for your child whether you have requested this or not. Please consider administering two weekly tests until the end of term so that we can catch any asymptomatic cases and reduce the risk in school and to our whole community.
We recommend testing on a Sunday evening and a Wednesday evening. Please then log onto https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result to record a result.
We are working hard to keep your child safe.
Very best wishes,
|

PLEASE NOTE UPDATED RULES FOR THIS AREA ON COVID TESTING AND ISOLATING
Public Health England have advised that currently anyone, in our area, identified as a close contact to someone who has tested positive for Covid19 should book a PCR test and report the result back to the school. So, if you have been told to self isolate you should book a PCR test.
Even with a negative PCR result you still need to continue to self isolate for the full 10 days. If you test positive your 10 days isolation period starts from the date of the test. If, at the end of the isolation period you do not have a temperature, you may return to work or school even if you still have a cough or change in sense of taste. If you have a temperature you must stay off work or school.

Pathway 1 Culture Day Celebration
As part of Pathway 1 Theme and English lessons this half-term, class YA have all taken part in a Culture Day celebration. This involved celebrating the different cultures of the students and teachers. Students learned about one another's cultural backgrounds; where the cultures originate from and what foods are a significant part of them. To further extend this, students and the teaching staff cooked dishes originating from their culture and shared them with the class. There were pakoras, potato fry and dholka from India, Handesh and biriyani from Bangladesh, Somali style lamb, very British and traditional doughnuts and scones, Spanish omelette, and Burmese snacks. The day was thoroughly enjoyed in a COVID secure manner.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that so kindly participated and sent in foods that play such an important part in cultural identities. There was so much to eat and everything was delicious.
