Dear Families
I hope your child has let you know how much they enjoyed the Christmas lunches at school this week. We made use of the main school hall for most pupils with a quiet option in the dining room for those who don't like busier spaces. It was wonderful to see the hall decorated again and pupils and staff coming together to eat and socialise. I was extremely impressed at the conduct of our year 7 and 8 pupils and those that have joined us since February 2020, as they have not experienced a school Christmas dinner.
We were pleased to offer a Halal Christmas dinner option for the first time this year, and we are looking to extend the Halal options for our standard menu.
Covid
We have had 4 confirmed cases of Covid in our community this week.
There have been a lot of pupils presenting with symptoms that could be related to a Covid infection. In these circumstances we will ask you to keep your child at home or come to school to pick them up and then arrange a PCR test. Pupils cannot return to school without evidence of a negative PCR test in these circumstances.
Please continue to complete twice weekly lateral flow testing with your child as part of our covid secure measures.
Bubbles
Next week we are returning to bubbles as part of our measures to prevent pupils, families and staff from being required to isolate over the Christmas period. All pupils are still expected to be in school, and, unfortunately, we cannot offer home education to any pupils other than those who are currently isolating whilst awaiting a PCR result or due to a Covid infection.
Finally, just a reminder that we finish at 2pm on Friday 17th December.
May I wish you all a happy weekend.
