Dear Families
It is always a bittersweet time of year when we say goodbye to pupils we have known for up to 8 years and welcome our new pupils for September.
Leavers
Last Friday we held our Leavers Assembly where we heard some lovely messages from pupils who are moving onto the next stage of their education, training or employment. Particularly poignant were those pupils who bravely shared some of the struggles they have had compared to where they are now. We are proud of each and every one of you and hope you will come back, not only to the Prom in a couple of weeks, but to our Boomerang Club for as long as possible!
Advance Notice
If your child will be leaving Meadow in Summer 2025 then please be aware that the end of the year for them will be the last Friday of June 2025.
Transition Day - Welcome New Pupils!
Our Transition Day on Tuesday saw almost 60 new pupils joining us. I would like to thank all our current pupils for the welcome and support they gave to the new pupils. You all demonstrated the excellent standards of kindness, tolerance, compassion and respect we expect, and I know you made a huge difference to helping our new pupils have a great day.
Classroom Locations
To support the Local Authority, we have continued with the expansion of Meadow even though not all the buildings are ready yet! To allow this to happen, we have a temporary double classroom unit coming on site over the summer. It also means that now, not all of our Pathway 1 classes fit on the downstairs corridor, with one to be located on the upstairs corridor and one of the KS5 groups in the temporary double unit. If your child is in Pathway 1 and tells you that they are located in a different part of the school, please don't worry! They are still with the Pathway 1 team, just located in a slightly different place.
End of Year
As we approach the last 2 1/2 weeks of this academic year, here are some important contact details should you need them over the summer or at any other time:
If a child is in immediate danger or at risk of immediate harm, you should contact the Police on 999
If you are concerned about a child you should share your concern with our local Children’s and Families Team by calling Hillingdon Children's Services/Stronger Families Hub on 01895 556006 or email StrongerFamiliesHub@hillingdon.gov.uk
You can also contact the NSPCC for advice on 0808 800 5000 or email help@NSPCC.org.uk
If you have non-urgent information about the safety or welfare of a child to share with the safeguarding team at Meadow High School, then please contact the relevant Safeguarding Designated Lead listed on our Safeguarding page, and below. You can also email meadow@meadowhighschool.org
Best wishes for a lovely weekend.

General Election
Meadow High School held a Mock General Election on Thursday 4th July.
Classes were invited to come and make their vote. They have been learning about the different Political parties and what a General Election is during their PSHCE Lessons. Pupils enjoyed putting their vote into the Ballot box and showed good understanding of making a choice.
Votes will be counted, and the results announced on Friday morning!
Thank you to everyone who had their say!

Year 11 Charity Toy Sale
Donations of Toys Requested !
As part of our World of Work lessons, class 11DM are planning a charity toy sale during lunch on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th July to raise money for Hillingdon Hospital Charity and The Toy Project.
We need your help. If families have any unwanted toys or board games at home that they would be happy to donate, please bring them to Mr. Ellis or Mr. Mac’s classroom (T3 and T4) by Wednesday 10th July so that 11DM can organise them ready for the sale.
Thank you, we would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to donate toys that you don’t need or use anymore. The money we raise, and any leftover toys will be donated to these charities to help children less fortunate than ourselves all around the world.
Thank you for your support, from Class 11DM.

Research in Family Experience of SEND Education
Contact is carrying out some research with an independent research organisation, O’Donnell Research & Evaluation, and we would love to hear your views.
We would like to find about your family’s experiences of SEND education and how you think London families can be better supported in the education system. This will help us to improve the help given to children and young people in London who need additional support with their learning.
The survey is for all London families with a child aged 5-19 who has a disability or special education needs. We are looking at inequalities in education and are particularly interested in the experiences of London families across different ethnic groups.
How can you share your views?
We would be grateful if you could complete the short survey below. This should take around 15-20 minutes. The deadline for completing the survey is 31st July 2024.
