This week we came together in our whole school assembly to learn about
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Whilst listening to a recording of a Shofar, pupils took a few moments to quietly reflect on anything they might regret or feel sorry for and to think about what they would do differently in the future. I was very impressed at how insightful some pupils were. We finished the assembly by sharing a sweet treat (all vegetarian with Halal options). We would have had the traditional apple slices dipped in honey, but I thought we might end up with sticky honey handprints across the school!
Meet the Tutor Evening
It was lovely to see so many pupils represented by their families last night. I hope you found the opportunity to talk with your child's Form Tutor helpful. Thank you to all our families of Pathway 1 pupils who attended one of our Northwood Road updates. For those families who weren't able to attend, we will be sending out an invitation to a virtual meeting where you can hear the same information. There are a lot of uncertainties about completion and move dates at the moment, but we will keep you informed of any updates we receive.
May I wish you all a peaceful weekend.
Kind regards,
Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

London Children's Ballet
On Friday 27th September, the London Children's Ballet came to perform
'The Secret Garden' at Meadow High School for our students.
Everyone was amazed at the talent and beautiful dancing! There were dress changes into some fabulous costumes, beautiful movement and narrative dance to tell the story.
At Meadow, students learn how to use gestures and dance to express themselves and key themes within their lessons.
A lot of students commented on how great it was for the return of the company:
Logan - "Can I see it again on Monday?"
Shwetan - "It was great, the dancers were amazing!"
Chris - "Amazing, so good!"
Miss Taylor - "I have never seen the students so calm and focussed as they were
today. The hall was silent and our young people were mesmerised."
Thank you very, very much for coming!

This Elmer is different. Elmer is patchwork.
The grey elephants all love him, but he soon starts to wonder what it would be like to be just the same as them. [This book is a student request!]

Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl
read by Miss Green.
Fairytales as you’ve never seen them before! Gruesome and grisly, dastardly and daring, these Revolting Rhymes turn familiar stories topsy-turvy.
